Nella seconda frazione del Tour of Chongming Island, sprint vincente della velocista giallo-fluo che si aggiudica tappa e primo posto in classifica generale, ad un giorno dal termine della corsa.
Doppio colpo per Monia Baccaille che, nella seconda frazione del Tour of Chongming Island (Chongxi - Chongxi di 118.40 km), piazza lo sprint che vale non solo la vittoria di tappa ma anche il primo posto in classifica generale, grazie agli abbuoni che permettono alla velocista della MCipollini – Giambenini – Gauss di surclassare l'australiana Melissa Hoskins. La ciclista umbra, già terza nella prima frazione, stavolta ha fatto suo lo sprint in modo perentorio cogliendo, dopo tanti ottimi piazzamenti e podi, la sua prima vittoria di tappa nella terra del Sol Levante. Un risultato ottenuto grazie all'ottimo lavoro svolto da tutta la squadra giallo - fluo che ha corso con un unico obiettivo: vincere con Monia Baccaille ed è riuscita a centrarlo mettendo l'atleta umbra nelle condizioni ideali per fare la volata. Lei ha poi finalizzato tutto il lavoro con uno sprint perfetto che le ha permesso di ottenere la seconda affermazione stagionale, dopo il trionfo al Grand Prix de Dottignies.
Il Tour of Chongming Island si concluderà domani, con i 79,2 km di un circuito cittadino, anch'esso adatto alle velociste. Obiettivo per la MCipollini – Giambenini – Gauss: mantenere il primo posto di Monia Baccaille in classifica generale per fare propria la corsa. Sarà un finale avvincente.
